Today, Vantage launches support for additional Azure cost recommendations. Vantage users who have Azure connected as a provider can see new recommendations for additional services, like Blob Storage Reserved Instances and Virtual Machine Rightsizing. Each recommendation will have specific details along with the projected savings amount. Vantage continually profiles your Azure workloads and automatically keeps these recommendations up to date.

Before, Vantage surfaced some cost recommendations, such as for Compute Reserved Instances and Compute Unattached Virtual Hard Disks; however, there were no Azure-specific recommendations available for categories like Virtual Machine Rightsizing. Users had to log in to the Azure Advisor to see any additional recommendations beyond what was offered in Vantage.

Now, users can see these new recommendations on the Cost Recommendations page in the Vantage console. From this page, users can see detailed information about the recommendation, such as the potential monthly savings amount. Where applicable, Resource Reports will be created for recommendations made on a resource level, such as VM Rightsizing, for Vantage customers to get full inventories of resources that can be optimized.

Blob Storage Reserved Instances	Vantage will suggest purchasing Reserved Instances that can save on Blob v2 and Datalake storage Gen2 costs.
SQL PaaS DB Reserved Instances	Vantage will suggest purchasing Reserved Instances that can save on your pay-as-you-go costs.
Files Reserved Instances	Vantage will suggest purchasing Reserved Instances that can save on your on-demand costs.

5. How quickly will I see recommendations after I’ve connected Azure as a provider?

Immediately after connecting Azure as a provider, your workloads will be profiled, and the recommendations will be surfaced to give you a savings estimate.

6. Can I ignore a specific recommendation?

If you want to hide a recommendation, you can click Archive. This action adds the recommendation to your archived recommendation list.

7. Will I be notified when new recommendations are surfaced?

We do not currently send notifications when new recommendations are surfaced.
