The Challenge

As Extend's business grew, so did its cloud infrastructure. The company built its environment almost entirely on AWS using serverless architecture, which minimized idle costs but introduced new challenges. Managing visibility and predicting costs became more demanding as Extend added AI workloads. They needed reporting that went much deeper than AWS Cost Explorer.

For security reasons, we had to restrict access to a small DevOps team, but we needed broader cost visibility without compromising security. AI workloads can spike unexpectedly based on demand. Without real-time monitoring and alerts, we risked significant cost overruns.

Why Vantage

Extend evaluated multiple cloud cost management platforms, but a majority of them use percentage-based pricing tied to potential savings, which doesn't align with the company's serverless architecture. They needed a cost-effective, flexible solution that provided detailed visibility without unnecessary overhead.
